Outfit of the Day #10: Deleting Facebook.

A while ago I decided it was time for me to delete Facebook. There wasn't really one thing that drove me to it, but it was a concoction of multiple things and thoughts that just in the end got to me.

Bag - Satchel Bag With Zip Flap (in Orange) - ASOS / Skirt - ASOS Skater Skirt in Darling Bud Print  / Tanktop - H&M (old) /Tights - H&M (old) Wrap Cardigan - Kookai (old) / Shoes - Reebook (old)
I have to say that I don't miss Facebook at all, I feel invigorated and more creative and at ease. It wasn't that my Facebook feed was filled with negative things it was more that my Facebook was somehow filled with false connection and that false connection was something I hated.

If someone liked my status didn't mean that they had communicated with me, and the same went with me. I somehow forwent all real communication and connection and chose instead of reading status updates and liking with occasional comment. It just didn't feel right.

I can't deny that since I quit there has been even more lack of communication, mostly because I did use the chat function on Facebook a lot, I am however still in contact with a lot of my friends and family. I as well made sure that by deleting Facebook I wouldn't block and be blocked from messaging my friends, now I just use Skype for it, and I like it more.

I don't feel like I am missing out, most of the people I had as Facebook friends weren't even in the same country as me! Why did I need to be able to watch their life? The truth was I didn't need to watch anybodies lives except for mine, I was getting to focused with other people instead of focusing on what I wanted and what I was going to do.

Have you ever thought about deleting Facebook?

Outfit of the Day #9: Haircut

So I finally got my hair cut! I have been wanting to cut it short for ages now. AGES! But as usually, I postponed it and postponed it until it was in dire need of being cut. I've had shorter hair than this before so for me cutting my hair wasn't a huge deal, I just haven't had the time to do it until now.
Bag - Satchel Bag With Zip Flap (in Orange) - ASOS / Dress - Kookai (old) / Shoes - Reebook (old)
There are couple of reasons why I wanted to cut my hair short, since I am not planning on dyeing my hair this year (see: 26 Things Before my 26th Birthday) I felt like it was a great time to cut out as much of the old dyed hair. I have as well for the past year (and probably even longer) been horribly bored of my hair, my hair is very hard to handle and it takes ages for me to dry it and style it, and it doesn't help how windy Geneva is! I step outside with gorgeous hair and two minutes later someone is touching it or the wind has blown it in the sky. So for the past year I have pretty much worn side braids and buns. So I am hoping for my hair to be more manageable at this length.

You can still see a lot of the hair dye in my hair but it feels more manageable to grow it out when I cut off so much of it. And I feel quite liberated for cutting my hair, frequently people are shocked when I told them I was cutting my hair. There is some stigmatization for cutting long hair shorter. But it just isn't an issue with me, if you want to cut your hair cut it, it grows back most of the time.

Maybe I should write as well how the hairdresser was since I find it hard to choose a hairdresser in Geneva. I went to is called Rhizone and is over at Rue de Monthoux 23, it is super convenient since they are right by the Monthoux bus stop (bus 25 and 1) direction Jardin Botanique.

First I need to mention the fact that their hair washing station has massage chairs! MASSAGE CHAIRS! It was a bliss! They as well use kms California products which are cruelty free! The guy that cut my hair was great as well, he understood what I wanted with my hair and made it better then I thought it would turn out. He didn't chit chat, which is something I prefer since it gives me time to think instead of having to think about what to say and he didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need. Definitely a perfect hair cutting experience.

Outfit of the Day #8 - Prófljótan

Let me start this post by explaining what Prófljótan (pronounced: pʰrouːfljouːd̥an) is. Prófljótan is an Icelandic concept of when exams are going on and you look like hell. It is a way of life during exam, a way of explaining without having to go into detail that it is likely that you haven't showered, slept or brushed your hair in a week. The likelihood of you having just been eating crap is high as well.

Bag - Satchel Bag With Zip Flap (in Orange) - ASOS / Jeans - Old Navy - The Sweetheart (Petite) / T-shirt - H&M (numbers painted by me) / Cardigan - Only - Ango Long Cardigan KNT BB / Shoes - Reebook (old)
I really doubt that Prófljótan is only an Icelandic phenomenon, but I just like the word. I as well want to start incorporating more of Icelandic ways of life or phrases into my blog and I though it my outfit posts would be the perfect setting for this.

Last week, was my last exam of the semester! What a relief, I have been working so hard and I am happy with what I have accomplished. I have been a tiny bit anxious during the exams, but I haven't been panicking at all which is great!

The greatest anxiety moment happened 10 days ago. I was handing in a final essay and realized that I might have forgotten to fill out a questionnaire. A very very very important questionnaire that if I did not do it I would fail the class, a class that my grade average was around 90%. My confusion about the issue was that I had filled out part one of this questionnaire but not part two.

I quickly e-mailed my teacher and asked if I was right that I hadn't answered the final questionnaire and if there was something I could do about it, and now 10 days later she still hasn't answered my e-mail. Fantastic...

Outfit of the Day #7 - I Hate Doorbells

The other night, (at 4:30 am to be exact) some dumb-ass started to ring our doorbell. Since I knew we weren't expecting someone at 4:30 in the night I didn't bother to get out of bed.
Bag - Satchel Bag With Zip Flap (in Orange) - ASOS / Tights - Light Blue - Avant-Première / Dress - ASOS Skater Dress With Polo Neck And 3/4 Sleeves (Black) / Shoes - Reebook (old)
You would think a person would realize after I don't know maybe the third ring that NO ONE would be opening the door. However, this person did not. At first he (I am assuming it is a he) rang the door bell couple of more times, then he tried to open the door (which was luckily locked) and then he kept on ringing the doorbell for AN HOUR!!

He did stop ringing our doorbell for couple of minutes to run downstairs and ring their doorbell! At 5:30 the door opposite us opened up and the guy when that way. So I am just assuming this person didn't know the different between left and right.

The problem with this is that it happens way too frequently, if it's not at 4 am it's at 1 am and it just goes on and on to the point that when I hear a doorbell ring I get a knot in my stomach and just feel horrible for a long time after the person has stopped ringing the doorbell!

The dress I am wearing was a replacement dress for this one, since it was one of my favorite items of clothing. I was so glad when I found this dress and it is as good as my old one. As I am looking at these pictures I realize I need to buy some new shoes for the summer!

Concealer: MaxFactor - Erase - Ivory 7 / Powder: Clinique - Almost Powder Makeup - 01 Fair (VF) / Eye liner: Lancôme - Le Crayon Khôl - Noir / Mascara: Astor - Big & Beautiful LovelyDoll Attractive Black Mascara / Lips: MAC - Kissable Lip Colour - Love Peck

Outfit of the Day #6

Bag - Satchel Bag With Zip Flap (in Orange) - ASOS / Tights - Dark Blue - Avant-Première / Shorts - H&M (old) / Tunic - Tunique fluide (Blue) - Mim / Shoes - Reebook (old)

I wanted to talk about about life lately with outfit posts but as I am sitting here I don't really know what to say. I started school again, which is great, or maybe not so great. I do enjoy it and I really feel confident since it is a distance education and I don't feel anxious about it all. Which is great. But at the same time I am so afraid of failing! I hate failing but I am starting to become so used to fail, so failure seems to be the norm. a bad bad norm.

But back to what I am wearing, I bought this tunic yesterday and I am in LOVE with it! LOVE! It is so comfortable and I just love the color of it! I am really looking forward wearing it with other things!
I love this bag, I wasn't sure when I bought it if it would be exactly what I imagined but it was. I have been using it all summer and it show very little wear! Which is amazing for fake leather! I cannot forget to mention the tights, if you live in Switzerland you will know Manor and these tights are from Manor and are my favorite tights ever! I always buy a bunch of them when they are on sale (couple of times a year they are 50% off) and those usually last until the next sale! For me they are just perfect for both summer and winter.

Outfit of the Day #5

Two outfit posts in one month! I must be crazy!  Well, not really! I'm just trying to feel more comfortable doing an outfit post  so I just must practice. One thing I have to say about this dress, it is made out of flannel and it is the most comfortable thing in the world. The only thing I don't like about it is the frilly bit on the chest area.

Shoes: Converse Tights: H&M (old) Dress: UNIQLO (old) Belt: thrifted

Couple of weeks ago I dyed my hair purple again, I love having purple hair and have wanted to go back to purple for a long time. I am super glad I went for it again. It is just amazing having purple hair!

Outfit of the Day #4 - You are the sun and moon and stars, are you. And I could never run away from you.

I need to talk about this dress, this is a dress I got in Finland from my stepmother the summer I moved to Geneva. This dress is now about 6 years old. This is the dress I was wearing when I met Mr. Handsome for the first time. This is the dress I used to put on when I felt the worst and it made me feel better. This is the dress that makes me feel like a princess (Princess Leia to be more exact), it makes me feel like I can win every battle and look fabulous doing it.

 Shoes: Converse / Tights: H&M / Tank-top: H&M / Dress: Object Collectors Item

The problem is that it is 6 years old, it has started to become a bit transparent from wear and small holes have started to appear. I think this is the last time I will be wearing this dress, it doesn't deserve to look awful. It deserves to be put away in dignity.

Therefore, this dress will go in the trash tonight and be on the Declutter update this weekend. I will be sad to see it go but it is time. The tights will probably be tossed as well since they are uncomfortable as hell.

Outfit of the Day #3

I was trying something different with this outfit today. The thing is I have gigantic bobbies. I have all natural 32HH boobies and they make me look like a porn star if I don't cover them up. The  problem is, whenever I find cute dresses they either don't zip up at the top or they have way too much cleavage. Therefore, I need to cover up the ladies or people will stare and guys will try to touch and I really don't like that.

Dress: H&M

T-shit: Helmet (borrowed from Mr. Handsome)
Tights: H&M

Shoes: Converse
Bag: H&M

Outfit of the Day #2

This is a good-bye post to my awesome tights that I bought in H&M many summers ago. This was the last time I could wear them since they have gotten way to many holes in them! It's also a good-bye post to the weight I was in then since I am losing weight and I do not plan on going back to that weight again!

When we went out to take these pictures it wasn't raining but as soon we got to the spot we wanted to take the pictures it started raining buckets so we  had to go back inside!

Hoodie: H&M
T-shirt: thrifted
Skirt: H&M
Tights: H&M
Shoes: Converse

I have a tremendous amount of clothes from H&M! In recent times I haven't bought many things there since I have way too much from them anyway, because I never throw any clothes away.

Outfit of the Day

I've wanted for a long time to do an outfit of the day post, so finally Mr. Handsome took his camera with him and we took some pictures of my outfit in the park!

About the outfit, I wear this on days when I really just want to be comfortable throughout the day. My hair is in a bun since it was dirty and I just really like not having the hair floating around everywhere.

Shirt: old one from my dad
Belt: Target
Shorts: H&M
Shoes: Converse

The weather was almost perfect. It started being windy (which is normal since we were near the lakeside). The pictures were taken around 6-7 ish so the sun was about to go down.

I had been wearing this all day long and at some point my tights got caught in something. I didn't notice until I looked at the pictures!
