Review: Elizabeth Arden - Color Intrigue Effects - 01 Poppy Cream

I have had this lipstick for some time now and I can't decide if I really like it or not. The colour is great but the formula feels somehow heavy. I think the problem I am having with it is that I like it but I don't love it.

The great things about this lipstick is the great colour, the formula is smooth and the lipstick isn't sticky at all! The not so great things about this lipstick is how heavy the formula feels on the lips and how easily it smears everywhere. The smearing is annoying for me, I can't pout without getting lipstick on my nose!

I can literary not drink anything have anything touch my lips without the lipstick getting messy! I really believe that is the only reason for me not loving this lipstick!

I am going to keep on using this lipstick but I won't repurchase it when I have finished it.

Review: Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick Sheer Tint

I have wanted to do a review on these forever. Spoiler alert: I love them!
1. Transparent 2. Blush 3. Plum

There are four different tints (five if you count the transparent one). The tins are called: Berry, Blush, Honey and Plum. In this review I will review Blush, Plum and the transparent one.

They are all SPF 15, which I think is a big plus for them. The lips are in a great risk for sunburns along with the rest of the skin! Therefore, it is important to protect them as well.

I can't really pick a favorite of those three.

I love using the transparent one whenever my lips need moisture or whenever I am outside and just want a coverage.

I love the Plum one because it has a purple hue and purple is my favorite colour.

I love the Blush since it gives my lips a cute pink hue.

They are all super smooth and the lips feel amazing after wearing them. They as well smell exactly like the 8 hour cream from Elizabeth Arden (which can be a pro or a con, depending on if you like the smell or not).

The staying power of them isn't that great but the tint goes away as well so that the lips don't have some funky colour problem going on, it is as well easy to apply since the colour isn't that strong. It is as well easy to build up the colour by adding more layers.

All in all I love these lip protectant sticks (aka tinted lip blams) and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. You'll be seeing more of them in my Make-Up Monday segments.

Below are some more pictures of the tinted lip balms.

Make-Up Monday #3

I wanted something natural today, calm eyes and a small dash of colour on the lips. I only used 4 products today! Sunscreen, eye shadow (two different colours) and lipstick.
I don't have a before picture today, I just totally forgot about it! Because I use so few items this make-up it took barely five minutes.

Skin -
Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! It is a vital thing for me! I am a pale person. Sun doesn't tan me it BURNS me! I once had a scar after a small sunburn for over a year! So I cover up and I use a lot of sunscreen. As usual I used the Cinique Sun SPF 40 Face Cream, (Clinique SPF 30 - $19 SPF 50 - $19)

Eyes -
Eye shadow: I've showed this eye shadow here before. That was January 2011! It has been lying in my make-up box since then. I used it this morning and I love it! I don't know why I haven't really used it before. I think it is because it is brown and just oh-so natural. Today when I was trying to find an appropriate eye shadow I looked at it and just wanted to use it! I am pretty sure I will now start using it more often! The eye shadow is as well from Clinique, it is the Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo, the colour is number 4 called Butter Pecan. Today I used the lighter colour as a base for the eyelid and the darker colour as the eye shadow itself. The eye shadow is super smooth, it applies amazingly and I just love it. (Clinique Butter Pecan (04) - $19.50)

Mascara: Today I used as well a mascara from Clinique, the thing is my eyes have been really irritated lately. Thus, I wanted to use a mascara that is allergic tested and Clinique is! So far my eyes are fine, maybe I am just getting annoying allergy towards my other mascaras. I find that a bit devastating because I do love my other mascaras. However, today I used the High Impact Mascara that Clinique has. I've used it before here and I loved it at that point and I love it now. It is definitely something you'll start seeing more here. (Clinique Black - $15)

Lips -
Today I used a lipstick from Yves Rocher, I've had it forever and it is almost finished! It is called Rouge Dragée and the colour is Rouge Pigment. I just quickly dab it on my lips, just to stain the lips and I love it. The texture of the lipstick is very smooth. (Clinique Rouge Pigment - $5)

Friday Make Up

Beginning of last year I tried to post one week of different make ups, I didn't succeed. I managed to do it four times. (MondayThursdayTuesday ITuesday II ). This time it is different, last year I was tired all of the time and it just was too hard for me. This time around I have energy and am ready to do it! I might even start writing posts with swaps and all that of these things, today there is just how I decided to use my make up.

Today I woke up early and went to meet my friend. I wasn't wearing any make up because I just had gotten up. When I got back I decided that today would be the day I should start taking the pictures. First let's look at the before picture!

I will write down the things that I used in the order I used them (easier for me to remember what I did):

Skin - I used a concealer from Max Factor called Erace, the tone I used was number 7 called ivory.  I really do like it and I might even buy that one again when I finish it.

Eyes -.I am using an eyeliner from M.A.C (same one I used here), it is the Smolder Khôl. It is the same one as I used the last time because I rarely use it and it was kinda lost in my make up box.I am still in love with the Hypnôse Precious Cells mascara from Lancôme and I use it almost every day. I need to buy a new one but I can't decide if I should buy the same one again or buy the Hypnôse Doll Eyes instead. I find it annoying buying the same one again because I love trying new make up.

Lips - I used two things for my lips, a lip liner from Maybelline, it is called COLORsensational and the colour is number 547 Pleasure Me Red. Over that I put on the Universal Lip Glow by L'Oréal to give it a bit shine.

And the end result is taataaaaa:

I brushed my hair too! I can't believe that now it has been over a month since I last time used shampoo and conditioner! But more about that later ;)

Clinique Chubby Stick

I think it is quite obvious that I like make up. The make up I like the most is mascaras and lip color. I don't like lipsticks that much because I find them quite annoying and just don't look too good on my lips. For me lipsticks are just somehow too heavy and thick. What I do love are lip stainer and that type of lip colors. I move mountains to get to them.

I've been eying this Clinique Chubby Stick for some time now, well ever since it came out. But I wasn't 100% sure about it. It somehow felt more like lipstick than a colored lip balm that it was advertised to be. But on the other hand it just looked so handy and the colors were so nice. Therefor I went over and over again in the shop to look at it. I'm pretty sure the ladies in the shop thought I was crazy but I couldn't make up my mind.

Then one day when I wasn't even planning on going into that shop I burst in and finally bought it. I definitely haven't regretted it. I love it now. The color I bought was number 7 called Super Strawberry.

Picture of it on my hand:

And then pictures of my lips, first one my lips without any thing and the second one with Chubby Stick 7 Super Strawberry

As you can see it doesn't look (or feel) like a lipstick and it gives my lips a lovely hue, which is exactly what I want.

Tomorrows post will be a recipe of rice-pancakes that I just made :)
